Why we send SMS

Terrayap sends one-time verification codes by SMS to confirm that the phone number you enter belongs to you. We use these codes only for account verification and login — we never send marketing, promotional, or transactional SMS. SMS is required because your phone number is your account identifier inside Terrayap.

When you opt in

You opt in to receive SMS verification codes by entering your phone number into the phone-entry screen during onboarding (account creation) or sign-in. The screen displays the consent disclosure shown below before the verification code is sent. You may also be asked to re-verify when you link a new device.

The exact text shown on the screen above reads:

By entering your number, you agree to receive a one-time SMS verification code from Terrayap. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. See our Privacy Policy.

Sample message

The verification SMS you receive looks like this:

Your Terrayap verification code is 123456. Don't share it. Reply STOP to opt out.

Message frequency

One SMS is sent per verification attempt — typically once per signup or per login on a new device. If you don't receive a code within a minute, you can request one resend. We do not send unsolicited or recurring SMS.

Opting out

You can opt out of Terrayap SMS at any time by replying STOP to any verification message. Once you opt out, you will no longer be able to verify your phone number with Terrayap, which means you will not be able to create an account or sign in to a new device. To resume receiving codes, reply START to the same number, or contact support@terrayap.com.

Carrier and rate disclosure

Standard message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier's plan. Terrayap does not charge you for SMS verification codes; any charges come from your mobile carrier.

Privacy

We do not share your phone number with third-party advertisers or marketers. SMS delivery is handled by Twilio under a Data Processing Agreement. See our full Privacy Policy for how phone numbers are stored and retained.
